Albums of 2011. No7. Cass McCombs : Wit’s End (Domino) It’s amazing that McCombs dropped two albums of excellence in 2011 (Humor Risk could easily make this list). But if I had to choose between the two, the earlier Wit’s End has the edge. Yes, it’s darker than his other albums, but I rarely hear the singer/songwriter thing done as well as this nowadays. I also know that this album will still be a constant friend to me over the years, as other McCombs albums have been.
